Jacobs is growing our hydrogeology team to support our client’s future needs for hydrogeologic characterization, wellfield expansion, rehabilitation, and modification services, water resource sustainability and resiliency, water resources planning, and permitting. We’re looking for an emerging highly motivated Hydrogeologist to work with our team on various projects for local utilities, local, state, and federal agencies, and private-sector clients.

Based in Jacksonville, Florida, you’ll learn from other experienced scientists, engineers, and project managers who are ready to mentor you, and you’ll pass your knowledge on to others. You should be a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each project in our diverse and fast-paced office. Candidates should be detailed oriented, quality driven, and team-focused.

As a Geologist or Hydrogeologist, you’ll have a chance to work on Water Resources and Water Supply projects in Florida, across the US, and internationally. You’ll gain valuable field experience in a variety of water supply well testing, investigation, rehabilitation, and construction projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing, analyzing, and interpreting well and aquifer performance tests (i.e., variable-rate and constant-rate pumping tests), video and geophysical logging, lithologic and groundwater sampling, drilling data, and hydrogeologic characterization. You will be responsible for managing our partner well investigation, rehabilitation, and construction subcontractors in the field. Your field work will be balanced with time spent in the office working on data evaluation and interpretation, analytical work, report writing, and coordinating logistics for field activities. You will prepare for and attend weekly coordination calls. Safety will be your priority, as you contribute to “incident free” operations and maintain the highest standards of Health & Safety in everything you do.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in geology or hydrogeology or related field. Master’s degree in geology or hydrogeology or related field is preferred
  • Professional experience in hydrogeological field work such as well drilling and construction and hydrogeological testing
  • Experience with borehole geophysical logs and hydrogeologic correlation
  • Experience with lithologic classification 
  • Experience with groundwater sampling
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Master’s degree in geology or hydrogeology or related field
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong hydrogeology and water supply well experience
  • Groundwater modeling experience
